2.2 Start WebMaker

2.2.1 WebMaker windows

WebMaker opens two windows. When you first start WebMaker, the main window is labeled new-1.wml. Figure 2.2 shows how the main window appears.

When you save a new WML file and give it a filename, the main window shows the name of the WML file. If you open an existing WML file, you will get another main window labeled with the name of that WML file. A WML file is a file that describes how a set of FrameMaker paragraph and character tags are to be translated when generating a web document.

The other window is called the details window. It shows more detail about the item that is selected in the main window. The label of the details window changes, according to the type of the item it is displaying. It starts as Details: Paragraph Rules. The details window is shown in Figure 2.3.
